3 cloves Garlic Minced
1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
1/2 Yellow Onion Cut into paper thin strips
1 stalk Scallion Minced

“Bo Luc Lac”, better known as Beef Cubes, is one of the most popular, traditional dish in Vietnamese cuisine, alongside Pho or Spring Rolls. It is a simple beef dish that goes extremely well with white rice.

Steps

In a medium bowl, combine the beef with the black bean sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce and garlic cloves. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to marinade.

Heat a medium pan over medium high flame for 3 minutes. When the pan is hot, add the vegetable oil, then the marinaded beef. Cook for 5 minutes, turning on all sides to cook evenly.

In the bowl with remaining marinade sauce, toss the onion strips to coat. Add the onions to the pan, tossing to combine. Cook for 1 minute, then add scallions and immediately turn off heat. Serve over a bed of jasmine rice and enjoy!
