Regarded as the national dish of Malaysia due to its popularity, the Nasi Lemak is rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf. It is a famous dish for a Malay-style breakfast often served with anchovy chili paste, hard boiled eggs and cucumbers.

After rinsing it, cook your rice with the pandan leaves, coconut milk and water in a medium pot or rice cooker. Add water or coconut milk as necessary if rice is still dry. When fully cooked, serve the rice on a plate with the sambal ikan bilis on top and hard boiled eggs and cucumber slices on the side. Enjoy!
