2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
8 cloves Garlic Minced
1 container or box Firm Tofu Each slab sliced into 4 (16 slices total)
1 pound Ground Pork
10 Shiitake Mushrooms Stem discarded and cap sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
2 handfuls Snow Peas
1 tablespoon Ground White Pepper
Braising Sauce
1 tablespoon Sweet Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Light Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
1 teaspoon Sugar
1/2 cup Water

Heat a large clay pot over medium heat for 2 minutes. When hot, add vegetable oil and garlic. Stir fry for 30 seconds until slightly browned and fragrant. Add firm tofu and stir fry for about 5 minutes until slightly browned on all sides. Remove tofu and set aside.

Add ground pork to clay pot and stir fry with garlic for 1 minute until somewhat cooked (not fully). Then add mushrooms and snow peas, returning the tofu back to the pot at the same time. Pour the braising sauce (sweet soy sauce, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and water) into the pot and mix well to combine. Cover pot with lid and braise on low heat for 15 minutes. When ready, top with ground white pepper and serve hot in the clay pot for an authentic Chinese experience.
