The go-to dish for many who enjoy Korean cuisine, the Bibimbap is a classic rice with beef and vegetable dish often cooked in a clay or stone pot. All the ingredients are simple to find and easy to prepare. I cooked my rice in a small clay pot on the stove and added the meat, vegetables and egg right on top. This saved the hassle of cooking the rice in a rice cooker and transferring it to a serving dish afterward. The result is pure deliciousness!

Steps

1
Done

Marinade the beef

Mix ground beef, soy sauce, sesame oil and garlic in a small bowl. Marinade for 30 minutes while preparing next steps.

2
Done

Make the bibimbap sauce

Make the bibimbap sauce by combining the gochujang, sesame oil, water, vinegar and garlic. Set aside for serving.

3
Done

Cook rice

Rinse jasmine rice a few times then soak in water for 10 minutes. Drain water after soaking. In a small ceramic pot over medium low heat, add rice and water and cook for 15 minutes until soft.

4
Done

Cook vegetables

Wash and prepare all vegetables. In a medium pan over medium high heat, add oil and when hot add vegetables. Cook for 3 minutes then set aside for serving.

5
Done

Cook beef

In the same pan over medium high heat, add oil and when hot add beef. Cook for 4 minutes then set aside for serving.

6
Done

Cook egg

In the same pan over medium heat, cook eggs sunny side up until edges are golden, one egg for each bowl of rice.

7
Done

Serve with bibimbap sauce

Over a bed of rice, add meat and vegetables and top with egg. Mix with sauce and enjoy!
