If you’re like me and you order Thai Iced Tea every time you can find it, then you already know how addictive this beverage is. If you have not tried it but enjoy drinking and trying new tea, then this is a great recipe for you. It is very simple to make and requires only a few ingredients. The distinct orange color of this tea is actually from the yellow food coloring found in the tea leaves, so if you prefer to avoid the food dye, then just use Thai black tea leaves that do not have it. Look for tea leaves without the ingredient “C Yellow Number 6” or “FD&C Yellow No.6”.

Steps

1
Done

Add loose tea leaves to boiling water and boil for 4 minutes until water is dark in color. Strain tea using a colander and cheese cloth (put cheese cloth on top of colander so tea leaves do not seep through). Pour tea into a cup and chill for 5 minutes in refrigerator. Note: You can also put tea leaves in a cheese cloth or tea bag and steep in the boiling water.

2
Done

Pour tea into a cup of ice and add condensed milk and sugar. Stir to combine.

3
Done

Add evaporated milk and stir to combine. Serve with a straw and enjoy!
